Sarees, stories and sisterhood: Saa Di Naari celebrates tradition through meaningful community gatherings
PTC Web Desk: In an era where fast-paced lifestyles often leave little room for meaningful connections, Chandigarh and Mohali-based women’s community Saa Di Naari is reviving the spirit of togetherness through one of India's most cherished traditions—the saree.
Founded by Nidhi Joshi and Dipika Goel, Saa Di Naari believes that traditions become more meaningful when they are celebrated collectively. The community recently hosted Pleats, Chai & Chatter at Hotel ShivalikView, Sector 17, where women from across the Tricity came together draped in elegant sarees, proving that the six-yard ensemble continues to be much more than festive attire.
The gathering welcomed students, professionals, entrepreneurs, homemakers and mothers, creating an atmosphere filled with conversations, shared experiences and new friendships over cups of chai. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the saree became a symbol of confidence, heritage and belonging, encouraging women from different walks of life to connect through a shared cultural identity.
For the founders, the event reflected the larger vision of building a community where women feel valued, supported and celebrated. Every initiative by Saa Di Naari is designed to strengthen cultural roots while fostering genuine human connections.
