Arvind Kejriwal in Tihar: The Rouse Avenue Court granted Arvind Kejriwal's plea and ordered Tihar jail authorities to provide him with an electric kettle, as well as a table and chair for reading books, among other things.

The Special Judge, Kaveri Baweja, approved Kejriwal's appeal on Wednesday, citing his medical condition and the need for an electric kettle to heat water and make tea at regular intervals.

On April 1, 2024, the same court sentenced the Delhi Chief Minister to judicial custody till April 15 in the excise policy money laundering case.

On April 1, the Court directed Tihar Jail Authorities to allow Kejriwal to bring prescribed medicine, books, one table and chair, a religious locket, and a special diet as specified by doctors, according to the Jail Manual.

Kejriwal, through his attorneys, made an application and sought permission to carry various books, including Bagwad Geeta, Ramayana, and a book titled 'How Prime Minister Decides', written by Neerja Chaudhary.

The Enforcement Directorate arrested Kejriwal on March 21 in connection with the excise policy case, and he has spent 10 days in ED custody following court orders.
