PTC Web Desk: The Delhi Police Special Cell has arrested nine persons suspected of operating as part of a terror network with alleged links to Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence and elements of the Mumbai underworld.

The arrests followed specific intelligence inputs that led to a coordinated operation by the Special Cell. Investigators say the accused were acting on instructions from handlers operating across the border and were in the advanced stages of planning attacks on key installations and security personnel in Delhi, Mumbai and several other cities.

During the operation, the police recovered a significant cache of arms and explosives from the accused, including sophisticated pistols and grenades believed to have been procured for carrying out the planned strikes.

The arrested individuals reportedly hail from different states, including Delhi, Maharashtra and Punjab. Some foreign nationals are also among those detained, though their identities and nationalities are yet to be officially confirmed.

Investigators are separately examining possible links between the module and organised crime networks in Mumbai. Agencies believe criminal channels may have been used for logistics, funding and the movement of operatives across the country.

Security has been tightened at sensitive locations following the arrests. The Special Cell is now analysing communication records, financial transactions and the broader network to determine whether additional operatives remain active elsewhere.

Officials described the operation as a major breakthrough in preventing what could have been a significant attack. Further details are expected once questioning of the accused is complete and the recovered material has been fully examined.
