ED summons another Delhi minister in excise policy case

Excise policy case: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued a summons for another Delhi Minister and AAP leader, Kailash Gahlot, in relation to the liquor policy case. The Delhi Transport Minister has been summoned to appear before the agency on Sunday (March 31).

The development comes days after ED arrested Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Gahlot, a Najafgarh MLA, was part of a panel that drafted the Delhi government's liquor policy for 2021-22, which has since been scrapped.

ED claims the draft liquor policy was leaked to the 'South Group'. The investigation agency claims that Gahlot allowed then-AAP communication in-charge Vijay Nair to use his official residence while the liquor policy was being drafted.

Previously, the ED claimed that Gahlot frequently changed his phone numbers.

Meanwhile, Kejriwal is currently in ED custody till April 1 after being produced in court on March 28. After Kejriwal was arrested, a Delhi court ordered him to be held in ED custody until March 28.

In addition to Kejriwal, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, former minister Satyendar Jain, and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh have been arrested in the liquor policy case.
