Five-year-old crushed to death under wheels of chariot at temple
PTC Web Desk: In a tragic incident, a five-year-old girl was crushed under the wheels of a chariot during the 'Chamayavilakku' festival at Kottankulangara temple in Kerala's Kollam. The incident took place late Sunday evening around 11.45 pm.
Amidst the bustling atmosphere, the girl slipped from her father's grasp, leading to a devastating accident involving a ceremonial chariot. A portion of the chariot's wheels crushed her. Despite immediate efforts to rush her to the nearest hospital, she succumbed to her injuries.
The police have registered a case. The girl's body has been sent for postmortem examination.
The 'Chamayavilakku' festival, an annual tradition, holds cultural significance in Kerala, where men don attire traditionally associated with women as part of their prayers and observances.
