Haryana Nuh violence: Judge, her 3-year-old daughter narrowly escape attack; their car was torched, says FIR

PTC Web Desk: An Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate of Nuh and her three-year-old daughter narrowly survived an attack when a mob targeted and set their car on fire in Nuh district of Haryana, says an FIR.

As per the FIR, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Anjali Jain and her daughter had a harrowing experience as they had to flee for their safety. The FIR filed at the City Nuh police station on Tuesday revealed that the attackers were hurling stones and firing at them during the incident.

The Judge, her daughter, and staff found refuge in a workshop located at the old bus stand in Nuh as the attack unfolded. Fortunately, they were eventually rescued by a group of advocates. The FIR was lodged against unknown persons based on the complaint of Tek Chand, who serves as a processor server in the court of ACJM, Nuh.

As per the FIR, the incident was reported at 1 pm on Monday when the ACJM, accompanied by her three-year-old daughter and her gunman Siyaram, drove to SKM Medical College in Nalhar to purchase medicines in her Volkswagen car. On their way back at around 2 pm, they were confronted by a mob of 100-150 rioters near the old bus stand on Delhi-Alwar road, resulting in the attack.

According to the FIR, the rioters launched an attack by pelting stones at the car. As a result, some stones hit the back glass of the vehicle, and the assailants also resorted to firing in the area. To save their lives, all four occupants of the car, including the ACJM, her daughter, and the gunman, had to quickly abandon the vehicle and flee.

They sought refuge at a workshop in the old bus stand, and later, they were rescued by some advocates. The following day, when the judge went to check on the car, she found that the rioters had set it on fire.

The FIR was registered under Sections 148 (riots), 149 (unlawful assembly), 435 (fire with intent to cause damage), 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC de and relevant sections of the Arms Act.

Notably, six persons, including two home guards, died in the clashes that erupted in Nuh, Haryana, over an attempt to stop a VHP procession. The protest also spread to other areas.
