You will hear a siren. We are on alert and initiating the blackout. Please switch off your lights and move away from your windows. Stay calm, we will inform when ready to restore the power supply. Don't panic at all. This is by way of abundant caution.
PM Modi in his nation to address said that 'Pakistan has to dismantle its terror infrastructure if it has to survive. The terrorism that Pakistan harbours will eventually swallow its own country.'
PM Modi has said that India has a clear stance that terror and talks cannot go hand in hand. W e have explicitly said that the only dialogue India will hold with Pakistan will be on terror and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
PM Modi said, 'Operation Sindoor has scripted new boundary in the conflict which signals that we will respond appropriately according to our time. We will dig deep down under the roots from where the terrorists emerge. We will not see terrorists and governments who harbour terrorists separately. We will not tolerate nuclear threat, rather respond to every eventuality. We has showcased massive display of our defence infrastructure which has also established 'made in India' ideology.'
Enemy has now realised consequences of removing 'sindoor' from forehead of our women; Operation Sindoor was not just a name: PM Modi
All educational institutions in non-border districts of both Kashmir and Jammu regions will re-open on Tuesday. Schools and other educational institutions except medical colleges will remain shut in the border districts tomorrow.

PM Narendra Modi will address the nation for first time since Operation Sindoor at 8 pm today. Earlier in the day, he chaired key meeting with Rajnath Singh, Ajit Doval. Notably, India and Pakistan have announced reaching a ceasefire agreement.
When asked both nations had aircraft in the skies; how many aircraft were involved from both sides? Was this the biggest aerial battle ever?
Air Marshal AK Bharti replied, "As I mentioned yesterday, the number of aircraft and the nature of the battle fall under technical details. We've already shared what we needed to. This battle was meant to be fought in this form. The next war will be fought differently — no two battles are the same. We just need to stay a step ahead of them. This was a different kind of battle, and many other forms of warfare will emerge — we are ready for them."
To a query "You are presenting evidence, but Pakistan hasn’t provided any. Are they misleading their own people? Reports suggest that relatives of Lashkar and Jaish leaders were killed, yet Pakistan claims they’re alive. Can you clarify what happened?, Air Marshal AK Bharti said: "We expected that they wouldn’t provide any information — and that’s exactly what’s happening. They are not informing their own people. Our fight is against terrorists. Pakistan is trying to spin its own narrative. We were given a job, and we completed it."
To a query, Air Marshal AK Bharti responded: "My colleague has already mentioned that the drones were of Turkish origin. As for the message, I’ll remind you of a line from the Ramcharitmanas:"
"‘Vinay na maane jaladhi jad, gaye teen din beeth;
Bole Ram sakop tab, bhay binu hoye na preet.’”
(“When the ocean did not yield to polite requests for three days, Lord Ram, in anger, said — there can be no peace without fear.”)
"And as I said — a word to the wise is enough. Whether it’s Turkish drones or drones from anywhere else, we have shown that we are fully prepared to deal with any form of technology."
Air Marshal AK Bharti said, “I want to make it absolutely clear that all military bases and systems are fully operational and prepared for any new mission.”
"The Navy was actively engaged in surveillance and threat detection. We deployed multiple sensors and provided critical inputs. We identified threats that required immediate neutralisation — including drones, high-speed missiles, and aircraft — all tracked using advanced radar systems."
"Our pilots were fully prepared to operate both day and night. MiG-29s aboard our aircraft carrier were ready for action. In recent years, we haven’t allowed any suspicious enemy vessel to come within several hundred kilometers of our perimeter. Our pilots remained on 24/7 alert mode throughout the operation."

“Along the international boundary, there was a layered defense system consisting of radar, air defense systems, vintage as well as modern air defense systems. Penetrating this to strike our airfields was extremely difficult for the adversary.”
“This situation reminds me of a cricketing moment from the 1970s, during the series between England and Australia. Fast bowlers Jeff Thomson and Dennis Lillee wreaked havoc on the English batsmen. At the time, the Australians coined a saying: ‘Ashes to Ashes and Dust to Dust.’”
“And speaking of cricket, it's worth mentioning that Virat Kohli has announced his retirement. He’s also one of my favourite cricketers.”
“Even if the enemy somehow manages to breach the defense layers shown in the image, they will be intercepted before they can strike any airfield. Our air defense shield is always active.”
“I would also like to appreciate the Border Security Force (BSF). From their Director General to the soldiers standing guard at posts — they actively contributed and supported us. They were an integral part of our multi-tiered defense group. As the saying goes: ‘When determination is high, no goal is unreachable.’”
“During Operation Sindoor, all three armed forces operated in perfect coordination. We had the strength of 1.4 billion Indians standing behind us — and for that, we salute you.”
Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai said, “Today, I want to highlight a crucial aspect of this conflict. It’s important for us to understand the air defense operations under Operation Sindoor. As I mentioned yesterday, over the past few years, there has been a significant shift in the character of terrorist activities.”
Air Marshal AK Bharti revealed that the attacks from Pakistan included Chinese-origin missiles, long-range rockets, UAVs, and some Chinese-made copters and drones. He added that these were successfully intercepted and destroyed by India’s air defense systems.
Air Marshal AK Bharti stated that India deliberately kept civilian and military infrastructure damage to a minimum, even as the Pakistani Army continued its attacks. He said India possessed a wide variety of air defense systems, including low-level firing units, surface-to-air missiles, and both long- and short-range missile systems.
He revealed that India was targeted by drones and UAVs, and during the Pakistani offensive, all of India's defense systems were activated simultaneously — a crucial demonstration of modern-day warfighting capabilities. Even the older air defense systems functioned effectively, and the Akash system was also used to respond to the attacks.

Air Marshal AK Bharti stated that India's fight was solely against terrorists, expressing regret that Islamabad chose to interfere. As part of Operation Sindoor, India successfully targeted and destroyed nine terrorist camps.
"We destroyed terrorist hideouts in Pakistan. Pakistan is solely responsible for its own losses. Our forces gave a befitting reply. Pakistan shelters terrorists. Our defense system stood like a wall — breaching it was beyond their capability."
– says Air Marshal AK Bharti
Our fight was against terrorism and terrorists– DGMO
Air Marshal AK Bharti says, "...Our battle-proven systems stood the test of time and take them head on. Another highlight has been the stellar performance of the indigenous air defence system, the Akash system. Putting together and operationalising the potent AD environment has been possible only because of budgetary and policy support from the Government of India in the last decade."
Indian airspace is now completely operational, with all restrictions lifted on commercial aviation. The Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) affecting 32 airports have been officially withdrawn, marking the end of recent closures. These restrictions had been imposed under the direction of the Indian Air Force (IAF), which has now signaled a full return to normal operations. The reopening is expected to reduce air traffic congestion and bring much-needed relief to both domestic and international carriers.
The ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan turned out to be an unexpected opportunity for the people of Patnitop and Batote and those dependent on tourism for livelihood.
Many people from Jammu and other surrounding areas preferred to stay in hotels in Patnitop and Batote with their travel companions, marking the area as safe and secure.
Many visitors who left Kashmir halfway preferred to stay in hotels in Patnitop. Following the Pahalgam attack, tourism in Jammu and Kashmir wore a deserted look, which affected Patnitop as well.
However, over the past few days, tourists have started to visit again, due to which there has been a rise in income for the hoteliers.

On India-Pakistan understanding, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma says, "DGMO explained all the strikes Indian armed forces did in Pakistan... No country has ever killed over 100 militants in another country. Prime Minister gave out a message to the world that wherever the terrorists are, we will kill every one of them, no matter where they hide. Today, the Prime Minister kept his word. I thank the Prime Minister and the Indian army. For the first time, India killed over 100 terrorists using missiles... If Pakistan violates the ceasefire, Indian forces will give a befitting reply to them."
