PTC News Desk: A temple in Maharashtra sparked controversy after the management used Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's image as a doormat. The Temple management took the action in protest of Rahul Gandhi's 'derogatory' anti-Hindu statements.

A video showing Rahul Gandhi's photo being used as a doormat has been surfacing on the internet. The video shows a temple in Maharashtra using a poster of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi as a doormat, with the text "How dare you call Hindus violent and eve-teasers?".

The viral video comes just days after Rahul Gandhi criticised the BJP's Hindu nationalist stance during his Lok Sabha speech on July 1, 2024.

What was the statement?

Rahul Ghandi's statement that "those who call themselves Hindus talk violence… hatred… untruth 24 hours" led to an argument among members of parliament.

In response to Rahul Gandhi's allegations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "This is a very serious matter. Calling the entire Hindu community violent is a serious issue."

Gandhi clarified that the BJP and RSS do not represent the entire Hindu society.

A video of the temple's symbolic protest went viral, drawing contrasting reactions from netizens.

In response to the viral video, one X user wrote, "This is very shameful, not a good sign for democracy." Another person said, "I strongly condemn this."
