Makar Sankranti horror: Man dies as kite string slits throat, makes final call to daughter
PTC News Desk: In a tragic turn of events, a 48-year-old motorcyclist died in Krnataka after a kite string struck, leaving him critically injured.
The victim, identified as Sanjukumar Hosamani, suffered a deep cut and began bleeding profusely.
According to witnesses, Hosamani collapsed from his bike but managed to dial his daughter’s number. A disturbing video from the scene shows him drenched in blood, struggling to make the call.
A passerby rushed to help and tried to stem the bleeding with a cloth. Locals said they immediately called for an ambulance, but it arrived too late. By the time medical help reached, Hosamani had succumbed to his injuries.
Angry relatives accused authorities of negligence, saying the delayed ambulance response cost him his life. In protest, family members and local residents gathered at the accident site, demanding strict action against the use of nylon kite strings and improvements in emergency response services.
Police have registered a case at Manna Ekhelli Police Station and confirmed that an investigation is underway.
