NEET UG 2024 Result row: Grace marks to 1,563 candidates cancelled, re-exam on June 23
NEET UG 2024 Result Hearing: The Centre has informed the Supreme Court of its decision to cancel the scorecards of 1,563 NEET-UG 2024 candidates who received grace marks. This move is in response to allegations of unfair means during the exam procedure.
In a statement to the court on Thursday, the Centre stated that these 1,563 students will be given the option of retaking the test on June 23. This move is intended to maintain fairness and integrity in the examination process.
The Centre additionally detailed the efforts taken to resolve the matter. A committee meeting was held on June 10th, 11th, and 12th to look into the allegations. Based on the committee's recommendations, the impacted candidates' scores will be cancelled, and a re-examination will be scheduled for these students.
The Supreme Court has reiterated its decision to continue with the NEET-UG 2024 counselling process.
"Counselling will proceed as scheduled and there will be no interruption. If the exam continues, everything else will proceed as well, so there is no cause for concern," the top court added.
