Tharoor-Bhutto led delegation to face off in US for India Pakistan diplomatic outreach
PTC News Desk: An Indian delegation led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor is heading to Washington s this week to engage with US lawmakers. As the Indian delegation is heading to US, Pakistan delegation led by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari prepares to present his own narrative to American lawmakers and political leaders.
Tharoor-led team is heading back to the US after the delegation completed visit to Guyana, Panama, Colombia, and Brazil. The group is expected to arrive in Washington, D.C. on June 3.
The Indian delegation includes: BJP MP Bhubaneshwar Kalita, Shiv Sena MP Milind Deora, and former Indian ambassador to the US, Taranjit Singh Sandhu.
Zardari led Pakistani delegation
Meanwhile a nine-member delegation from Pakistan led by former minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
The Pakistani team includes several former ministers and diplomats, including Hina Rabbani Khar, Sherry Rehman, Khurram Dastgir Khan, Jalil Abbas Jilani, and Tehmina Janjua.
In a move replication of India, the Pakistani government also decided to send a delegation to its partner countries in a bid to counter India's diplomatic approach after New Delhi explained its reason for the move in the backdrop of Pahalgam Terror Attack.
