Wanted Khalistani terrorist Happy Passia to be extradited from US to India under tight security
PTC Web Desk: India is set to receive wanted Khalistani terrorist Happy Passia from the United States in the coming days, as extradition proceedings near completion. Central security agency officials have confirmed that Passia, currently in US custody, will soon land at the Delhi Airport under heavy security arrangements.
Happy Passia, a key figure linked to multiple terror attacks across Punjab, was apprehended on April 17 in Sacramento, California, by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), following sustained coordination with Indian intelligence and law enforcement agencies.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has declared Happy Passia a wanted terrorist, offering a Rs 5 lakh reward for information leading to his capture. He is allegedly involved in a series of grenade attacks and targeted violence, primarily aimed at police stations and public institutions in Punjab between 2024 and 2025.
Intelligence sources claim Passia maintained direct communication with Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and received support from Khalistani extremist outfits like Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and Harvinder Singh Rinda’s network. The authorities believe he played a pivotal role in planning and executing over 14 terror-related incidents within two years.
His arrest is seen as a major success in the global crackdown on Khalistani operatives, resulting from close cooperation between the Punjab Police, central intelligence agencies, and American counterparts.
Upon extradition, Happy Passia will be prosecuted under multiple anti-terror laws, including the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
