NIA announces Rs 5 lakh reward for info about Ludhiana court blast case

New Delhi, April 19: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh in connection with the Ludhiana court complex blast case. Notably, the blast took place on December 23 last year, killing two people and injuring six. The NIA on Tuesday announced that it needs information regarding the individuals involved in the case. The agency, however, has not named any specific individual or organisation while announcing the reward. A case was initially filed in this regard by the Ludhiana Police in 2021, and the investigation was later taken over by the NIA in 2022. Huge monetary reward in Ludhiana court blast case During the investigation, it was discovered that the person killed in the incident was Gagandeep Singh, a former Haryana Head Constable who died while planting the bomb. The probe further revealed that Khalistani operatives were working with the drug mafia and Pakistan based arms dealers and narcotic dealers to trigger panic and disrupt peace and harmony in the state. A forensic investigation of the blast revealed that 1.5kg of RDX was planted in a plastic container with a lot of shrapnel inside, implying that the blast was planted to cause extensive loss of life.
