Trouble mounts for AAP: Delhi court summons Atishi in defamation case

Trouble mounts for AAP: It seems that more trouble mounts for Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as a prominent leader Atishi  has been summoned by a Delhi court on June 29 in a defamation case filed by the BJP over the Delhi Minister's poaching claim.

Atishi is a key leader responsible for managing Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) affairs during Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's absence due to arrest.

Kapoor, who included Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the defamation lawsuit, asserted that the accusations tarnished both his and his party's image. Responding to these claims, the court acknowledged Atishi as a defendant and instructed her to attend the court proceedings scheduled for June 29.

The BJP vehemently denied these accusations, labeling them as unfounded and challenged both Kejriwal and Atishi to provide evidence supporting their claims.

Subsequently, they were served notices by the Delhi Police regarding these allegations.

Atishi further asserted that she was personally approached by someone with close ties to the BJP who proposed she switch sides to safeguard her political career.

She said that if she didn't want to join the BJP, they threatened to arrest her by the Enforcement Directorate within a month. The BJP issued a defamation notice in response to these claims, and it also demanded a public apology.

In spite of this, the BJP rejected the Chief Minister's accusations as baseless and false, asking him to provide proof for them.
