Opposition's mega rally at Mumbai's Shivaji Park today; Rahul Gandhi joined by Sharad Pawar and MK Stalin
PTC News Desk: Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, a significant journey spanning 6,700 kilometers, commenced its final leg in Mumbai today, drawing together key allies in a show of opposition unity. Embarked upon from Imphal on January 14, the yatra traversed over 100 Lok Sabha constituencies across 15 states, amplifying the message of solidarity and social justice.
Joining Gandhi at the culmination of this impactful journey are eminent political figures, including Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav. Their presence at Shivaji Park for the yatra's finale underscores a collective effort towards fostering opposition unity, strategically positioned ahead of the impending Lok Sabha elections.
Anticipated attendees also include Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray along with his son Aaditya, veteran leader Sharad Pawar, and Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren, further emphasising the collaborative stance against prevailing political challenges.
The event will witness the presence of Sonia Gandhi, former Congress chief and Rahul Gandhi's mother, who is slated to meet Maharashtra alliance leaders earlier in the day, marking her solidarity with the regional political landscape. Additionally, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who joined the yatra in Mumbai yesterday, will grace the occasion, lending her support to the overarching message of social awareness and empowerment.
Reflecting on the significance of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra articulated, "Today 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' is coming to an end. We both are very happy to be here. Rahul Gandhi ji did this journey so that you understand the reality of the country. This entire journey was to make the public aware."

The yatra, spanning from east to west, traversed diverse terrains and communities, amplifying voices across the socio-political spectrum. Conceived as a follow-up to the party's Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanniyakumari to Kashmir last year, the nationwide foot march has been instrumental in galvanizing support and fostering grassroots connections. The Congress attributes its victories in assembly elections in Telangana and Karnataka to the momentum generated by this monumental endeavor, underscoring its enduring impact on the political landscape.
