Punjab : 1 killed, woman critically injured after car collides with truck on Delhi-Amritsar National Highway near Rajpura
Punjab: In a tragic and spine-chilling incident, one killed, woman critically injured after a car collided head-on with a truck on Delhi-Amritsar National Highway near Rajpura.
The impact of the dreadful accident was so intense that the car veered off course, strike a pole, banged into a divider and flipped in the air.
The terrible incident unfolded when a couple was en-route to Patiala from Shimla to visit in-laws residing in Punjab’s Patiala.
Upon receiving reports of the car-truck collision, authorities swiftly intervened, transporting the injured to Rajpura Civil Hospital. Despite immediate medical attention at Rajpura Civil Hospital, Harvinder Singh (38) succumbed to his injuries, while his critically injured wife was referred to another facility.
Jaskaran Singh, the cousin of the deceased, confirmed the tragic incident, revealing that Harvinder Singh was traveling with his family to Patiala when the accident occurred. He leaves behind two small kids.
Gurmel Singh, a witness and owner of a nearby tea shop, recounted the harrowing incident, describing the collision between the car and the truck.
Authorities are conducting further investigations based on statements provided by family members.
