Moga: Govt school to be named after martyr Lance Naik Kulwant Singh: Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann

Charik (Moga), April 26: A government school at Charik village of Moga district will be upgraded and named after martyr Lance Naik Kulwant Singh, who had attained martyrdom at Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir. This was announced by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday. A playground in his native village will also be constructed.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann who called on the kin of martyr  Lance Naik Kulwant Singh also handed over a cheque for Rs 1 crore as financial assistance to the bereaved family.


Notably, Lance Naik Kulwant's father Havaldar Baldev Singh had also sacrificed his life while safeguarding the country.


Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann said the statues of both martyrs would be installed on the campus of the upgraded school to be named after Lance Naik Kulwant Singh.

The Punjab Chief Minister said job to next of kin of the martyr would be given after due consultation with the armed forces.
