Punjab minister Harjot Bains sets in process for repatriation of teachers on deputation

Chandigarh: The government teachers who went on deputation are now under scrutiny of Punjab government. The Education Minister government has sought list of teachers who have gone on deputation in various departments for the past several years. From this, there are indications that there may be a big action against the teachers of government schools that are misusing government facilities in the future. In order to improve the level of education in Punjab, School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains has ordered to send teachers back to schools. Apart from this, Harjot Bains has sought information on whose orders the teachers were sent to different departments and for how many years they are not working in schools. The Education Minister has given orders to send the teachers on deputation to schools with immediate effect.

It is significant that orders were given by School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains on Tuesday to improve the structure of District Education Evaluation and Improvement Teams. According to the orders issued by Bains, evaluation teams were formed to improve all the schools located in each district of the state.

In order to make this process more transparent and better, now each district will send a proposal of names of three members instead of one for this team. Apart from this, the deputy district education officer or the principal will also be put in charge of this committee. Along with this, one eligible member will be selected from the three names proposed by the district office.
