Punjab transfers 20 police officers; six SSPs reassigned, Education Minister’s wife posted to PAP Chandigarh
PTC Web Desk: The Punjab Government on Tuesday carried out a major administrative reshuffle, transferring 20 police officers — eight IPS and 12 Punjab Police Service (PPS) officers.
As part of the reshuffle, new Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) have been appointed in six districts — Malerkotla, Pathankot, Patiala, Mohali, Bathinda and Mansa.
Gurpreet Singh Bhullar has been appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP), Border Range, Amritsar. Meanwhile, Jyoti Yadav, who was serving as SSP Bathinda, has been shifted to the 82nd Battalion of the Punjab Armed Police (PAP) in Chandigarh as Commander.

Six districts get new SSPs
The government has made the following changes in the district police leadership:
Varun Sharma (IPS, 2014) has been appointed SSP Mohali. He was earlier serving as SSP Patiala.
Harmandeep Singh Hans (IPS, 2015) will take charge as SSP Patiala. He was previously posted as SSP Mohali.
Suhail Qasim Mir (IPS, 2017) has been appointed SSP Bathinda. Before this appointment, he was serving as AIG, Personnel-1, CPO Punjab.
Vaibhav Chaudhary (IPS, 2020) has been posted as SSP Mansa. He was earlier working as SP Headquarters, Patiala.
Among the PPS officers, Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh has been appointed SSP Malerkotla, replacing Gurmeet Singh (PPS).
Manpreet Singh (PPS) has been posted as SSP Pathankot. He will replace Daljinder Singh Dhillon (PPS).
