Raj Kumar Verka
Punjab Assembly elections 2022: Congress' Raj Kumar Verka will contest the upcoming Punjab elections from the Amritsar West constituency. He is a Member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly (MLA) and has served as the vice-chairman of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes. Verka was one of the 42 INC MLAs who submitted their resignation in protest of the Supreme Court ruling Punjab's termination of the Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) water canal unconstitutional. Verka has also remained the Parliamentary Secretary in Punjab Government and General Secretary, PPCC; Vice-Chairman of National Commission for SC/ST and Chairman/Member of Committee on Welfare of SCs/BCs and Backward classes of Punjab Vidhan Sabha.
