PTC News Desk: A rare total solar eclipse is taking place today, Wednesday, August 12, 2026. During the event, the Moon will move between the Earth and the Sun, completely blocking the Sun for people in certain parts of the world.
The eclipse will be visible in parts of Greenland, Iceland, northern Russia, Spain, Portugal and other regions.
Will the solar eclipse be visible in India?
No. The August 12, 2026 solar eclipse will not be visible from India. The eclipse path does not cross the country, so people in India will not be able to see either the total or partial phase of the eclipse from their cities or towns.
Where can the total eclipse be seen?
