Asian Games 2026: India clinch another silver in men's air rifle, outshine Pak in Table Tennis; third medal so far
PTC News Desk: After winning two silver medals in shooting on the opening day and securing medals in mixed martial arts (MMA) and women’s cricket, India has added another silver medal to its tally at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
The Indian trio of Himanshu Dhillon, Parth Mane and Rudrankksh Patil won silver in the men’s 10m air rifle team event. Rudrankksh and Himanshu also qualified for the men’s 10m air rifle individual final, while Parth could not make it through.
India also recorded a strong win in table tennis, defeating Pakistan 3-0 in the women’s team event.
Results So Far
Soft Tennis: Aadhya Tiwari and Jay Meena comfortably defeated Cambodia’s Viva Chao and Chanroseka Khun 5-0 in the mixed doubles Group B match.
Swimming: Srihari Nataraj qualified for the men’s 50m backstroke final. Rishabh Das finished as a reserve.
Swimming: Akash Mani and Gitesh Shah failed to qualify for the men’s 50m freestyle final.
Swimming: Dhanush Suresh could not qualify for the 100m breaststroke final.
Wushu: Nyeman Wangsu finished 15th in the women’s Changquan final.
Shooting: India won silver in the men’s 10m air rifle team event.
Table Tennis: India defeated Pakistan 3-0 in the women’s team Group F match.
Meanwhile, Dhanush Suresh failed to qualify for the men’s 100m breaststroke final after finishing 22nd overall with a time of 1:03.46. With his exit, Srihari Nataraj remains the only Indian swimmer competing in today’s finals after qualifying for the men’s 50m backstroke final.
In women’s skeet, India’s Raiza Dhillon made a strong start on the opening day of the three-day qualifying event. She leads the early standings with a perfect 25 hits from 25 shots.
Her teammate Parinaaz Dhaliwal has also started well, hitting 23 out of 23 targets so far.
