Batting first, India posted a strong total of 211 for 6 in 20 overs at Korogi Sports Park. Abhishek Sharma led the innings with a quick 61, while Tilak Varma remained unbeaten on 51 to give India a big total on a good batting pitch.

Pakistan started its chase with intent but could manage 192 for 6 in their 20 overs. Hasan Nawaz kept Pakistan in the contest with a superb 96 off 50 balls, including seven sixes and five fours.

However, India held its nerve in the closing stages to secure a 19-run win. Axar Patel was among India's key bowlers, finishing with two wickets for 29 runs.

Powerful performance by Abhishek

His aggressive innings included several big hits and saw him equal Yuvraj Singh’s record for the most sixes by an Indian batter in a T20 international against Pakistan. Abhishek’s knock gave India a strong start in the high-pressure gold medal clash.

Tilak Varma hits quick fifty

India batter Tilak Varma once again produced a strong performance against Pakistan, hitting a rapid half-century in the men’s cricket final at the 2026 Asian Games on Saturday.

Varma remained unbeaten on 51 from just 22 balls, striking three fours and four sixes at an impressive strike rate of 231.82. His aggressive knock helped India post a big total in the title clash.
