PTC Web Desk: India captain Rohit Sharma praised Virat Kohli and urged his team to step up for their crucial match against arch-rival Pakistan in the ongoing T20 World Cup.

Fans are excited as they prepare to see one of the oldest rivalries return to the same field after nearly eight months. India and Pakistan are going to renew their historic rivalry at New York's Nassau County International Cricket Stadium.

In the previous edition of the tournament, India relied on Kohli's bat to secure a thrilling victory at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground in 2022.

This time, Rohit does not want to rely on individual brilliance and instead expects the entire team to step up and contribute to the game.

"I don't want to rely on just one or two players to win us the game. I believe all 11 of us should contribute. Of course, there are key players who will play important roles for us, but I believe everyone should contribute whatever they can, however they can, in the best way they can," he said at the pre-match press conference.

India has had plenty of experience playing in Nassau County. In the warm-up game, Rohit led his team to a convincing victory over Bangladesh. The Men in Blue went on to put on a clinical performance in their season opener against Ireland.

Kohli missed the warm-up game and opened alongside Rohit, scoring only one run in five deliveries.

Rohit believes Kohli has received enough training and has unparalleled experience.

"Virat didn't play the Bangladesh [warm-up] game but he's had enough training under his belt before this game...the kind of experience that he has, playing all over the world, playing in big tournaments, nothing can beat that," Rohit stated.
