Chaitra Navratri 2024: Check date, mahurat and other details

Chaitra Navratri 2024: Chaitra Navratri, a nine-day Hindu festival, is set to commence on April 9 and will culminate with the celebration of Ram Navami. According to experts, Chaitra Navratri holds significance as it is believed that during these days, Goddess Durga bestows her blessings upon her devotees while residing on Earth.

Traditionally, Chaitra Navratri begins on the Pratipada date of Shukla Paksha in the Chaitra month of the Hindu calendar. This year, it starts on April 8 at 11:50 pm and concludes on April 9 at 08:30 pm. It's believed that Goddess Durga will grace the Earth during this period, riding her horse.

However, the choice of Goddess Durga's vehicle this year has stirred discussions, as the horse symbolises war and natural disasters, indicating a shift in power and its potential impact on nature and human life.
