Canada gold heist: Do you remember Canada's biggest-ever gold heist when a Swiss bank hired Brink's Co. to transport the valuables from Zurich, Switzerland to Toronto, who in turn arranged for Air Canada to fly the valuables into the country? 

Yes, yes you are guessing it right!


The biggest-ever heist in the history which stunned the world by sensational headlines revealing that the stolen goods amounted to an astonishing 6,600 gold bars, collectively weighing 400 kilograms (882 pounds), along with over $2 million in foreign currency and also resembled a plot straight out of a Netflix series, garnering widespread attention.

In a major breakthrough in the biggest-ever heist and months after the investigation and inquiry, six among nine suspects involved in the case has been arrested with the joint operation between the Canadian and US law enforcement agencies. However, three suspects still absconding adding that the case has not been solved completely. 

Canada's biggest-ever gold heist – The arrests 

The individuals arrested in connection with the heist are 54-year-old Air Canada employee from Brampton Parmpal Sidhu, 37-year-old jewellery store owner from Toronto Ali Raza, 40-year-old resident of Oakville Amit Jalota, Ammad Chaudhary (43) from Georgetown, Prasath Paramalingam (35) from Brampton. 

Durante King-Mclean (25) truck driver hailing from Brampton, is presently detained in the United States on charges related to firearms and trafficking. 

Meanwhile, arrests warrants have been also issued for Simran Preet Panesar (31), Archit Grover (36) and Arsalan Chaudhary (420 who are still absconding. 

Canada's biggest-ever gold heist – Plot 

The Canada's biggest-ever gold heist was orchestrated by a syndicate that included two individuals employed by Air Canada. Their scheme involved the manipulation of an airway bill, enabling the theft of a significant cargo shipment originating from Switzerland.

The stolen goods amounted to an astonishing 6,600 gold bars, collectively weighing 400 kilograms (882 pounds), along with over $2 million in foreign currency. This audacious robbery took place within an Air Canada cargo facility situated at Toronto Pearson International Airport.

Authorities suspect that the stolen gold was melted down to obscure its origins, with the proceeds likely used to finance the acquisition of firearms. It is estimated that as many as 65 firearms may have been seized in connection with the case.
