Israel-Hamas Conflict: As Hamas terror groups continued their attack on Israel for the third consecutive day, an eerie silence pervaded Israeli cities, with the country at war following the most lethal Arab assault on the Jewish state in half a century.


In a major escalation which broke out on Saturday, Hamas launched a "surprise attack" on Israel, firing a barrage of rockets into the southern and central parts of the country.

The deadliest escalation of the conflict in decades has witnessed a massive rocket barrage and a multi-front offensive by Hamas, resulting in reports 700 people dead, over 2000 injured in Israel.

Israel-Hamas Conflict Death Toll: As Hamas terror groups continued their attack on Israel for the third consecutive day, at least 700 people have been killed and over 2000 injured and the numbers are expected to rise further.

A state of war:  Israel has been declared a state of war when Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a stern warning to Hamas, claiming that it had begun a terrible war and that the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) would use all of its strength to undermine their capacity.

Flights cancelled: Even the skies above Israel were unusually quiet on Sunday morning, with many flights to and from the country cancelled even as the country's airport remained open as tourists struggled to get home after the week-long Jewish holiday of Sukkot.

Ghost Towns: With schools and places of entertainment shuttered, Israeli cities, including its economic hub of Tel Aviv, looked like ghost towns as the first batches of the names of the dead were released, including many young soldiers in their 20s.

Indian embassy Advisory: The Indian embassy in Israel has issued an advisory to its citizens, urging them to remain vigilant and follow safety guidelines as instructed by local authorities. The advisory emphasises caution, avoiding unnecessary movement, and staying close to safety shelters.

Life out of gear: The situation in Israel and Gaza remains highly volatile and fluid, with the conflict showing no signs of immediate resolution.

Hamas horrific attack on Israel: Hamas militants fired thousands of rockets, breached Gaza's security barrier, attacked nearby Israeli towns and military posts, and indiscriminately opened fire on residents and passersby. They dubbed their operation "Operation Al-Aqsa Flood" and called for the participation of "resistance fighters in the West Bank" and from "Arab and Islamic nations."Hamas released images of several Israelis taken captive, while in the Israeli town of Sderot near Gaza, bodies were found strewn on the streets and inside cars, their windscreens shattered by gunfire.
