Mass stabbing attack: In a terrifying and critical incident, several people sustained injuries in northeast London on Tuesday following a mass stabbing attack by a man wielding a sword which gripped shock, terror and chaos among the people in Hainault
The police force received a call shortly before 7:00 am (0600 GMT) reporting that a vehicle had crashed into a house and that "people have been stabbed."
A statement from the authorities indicated that, following the initial incident, the suspect proceeded to assault additional members of the public and two police officers.
The assailant was arrested with officials emphasizing that the incident was not believed to be linked to terrorism. The Metropolitan Police indicate that the 36-year-old suspect targeted members of the public and two officers in the Hainault area.
Terrifying footage circulating online shows a man brandishing a sword along the residential street, as shocked onlookers watch on.

Metropolitan Police Deputy Assistant Commissioner Ade Adelekan said, “This must have been a terrifying incident for those concerned. I know the wider community will be feeling shock and alarm. We do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the wider community."
