Pakistan halts Sarabjeet Kaur's repatriation citing pending cases, first picture in custody surfaces

PTC News Desk: The repatriation of Sarabjeet Kaur from Pakistan has once again been delayed by the Pakistan government. Citing an ongoing court case, Pakistan Interior Ministry halted her repatriation through the Attari–Wagah border. 


The ministry said hat the woman married with her own will and that the matter is currently under consideration in the court. Once al the legal formalities are completed and court pronounces its final verdict, she will be send back to India. 

Sarabjit Kaur had travelled to Pakistan on a visitor’s visa as part of a jatha of Sikh pilgrims to mark Guru Nanak Dev’s Parkash Gurpurab on November 4, 2025. She went missing while visiting Gurdwara Nankana Sahib. 

Subsequently, reports emerged that she had embraced Islam and married a Pakistani national, Nasir Hussain, a resident of Sheikhupura, about 56 km from Lahore.
