Paris on high alert: French police cordon off Iranian Consulate in Paris amid explosive threat

PTC Web Desk: French authorities cordoned off the Iranian consulate in Paris on Friday and are preparing to enter it at the request of the mission. This follows a report of someone entering the premises with an explosive device, according to a security source.

Sources said a witness observed a man entering the consulate while carrying either a grenade or an explosive belt. In response, an elite police unit has been deployed after the consulate sought intervention.

Reportedly, the entire neighbourhood surrounding the consulate in Paris's 16th district has been sealed off, with a significant police presence in the area. The Paris transport company RATP, earlier known as Twitter, announced the suspension of traffic on two metro lines passing through stops near the consulate.
