US: Indian-origin family of four found dead in Plainsboro, New Jersey; murder-suicide suspected
Plainsboro, New Jersey, October 6: In a tragic incident that has left the Indian community in shock, an Indian-origin family of four was found dead in their Plainsboro residence, with the authorities suspecting a possible case of murder-suicide.
On Wednesday evening, the Plainsboro police responded to a welfare check request and made the grim discovery, according to County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone. The deceased were identified as Tej Pratap Singh, 43, Sonal Parihar, 42, along with their 10-year-old son and six-year-old daughter.
While the exact cause of the family's death was not revealed by Ciccone, it was reported that her office ruled out the involvement of firearms. The investigation is ongoing, with autopsies being conducted to determine the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
Plainsboro Mayor Peter Cantu expressed his condolences on the social media platform X, stating, "What happened in our community is beyond comprehension. We are saddened by this tragic event."
Sources said the man might be responsible for the deaths of his family members before taking his own life, as reported by WABC TV.
Outside the family's home, relatives gathered in disbelief, describing the parents as a happy couple. Both were employed in the information technology sector, with one specialising in human resources, according to WCBS TV.
