US reacts to PM Modi's tough stance on terrorism amid India-Pakistan tensions

In response to PM Modi's statement that "India will not hesitate to cross borders to kill terrorists," the United States Department of State issued a cautious response, urging both India and Pakistan to pursue dialogue for resolution while maintaining its stance of non-interference in allegations of cross-border activities.
State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller reiterated the US position, stating, "The United States is not going to get into the middle of this, but we do encourage both India and Pakistan to avoid escalation and find a resolution through dialogue."
The backdrop to these remarks includes recent allegations, highlighted by a report from The Guardian, suggesting that India conducted targeted assassinations within Pakistani territory. The Indian government swiftly dismissed these claims as "false and malicious anti-India propaganda."
