US: Sikh man thrashes robber as he attempts to loot store; video goes viral
Viral Video: There have been many cases in which store owners in the United States have been forced to remain mute witnesses to armed robberies. But desi people are not like that. That is why, when a robber targeted a Sikh-owned grocery store, he was met with some raging desi'maar' that he will never forget.
The video of the incident is going viral on social media.
In the video, the robber can be seen pushing a garbage can and cramming objects into it while the store owner tries to interfere. When the robber approaches close, he brandishes an unidentified weapon and warns the owner to back off. The entire action is narrated by a person filming the scene from behind a plastic partition, most likely the payment counter.
As the thief refuses to yield and ignores the warning, someone in the store threatens to call the cops. The person behind the camera can be heard saying, "Hey, just let him go. There ain't nothing you can do. They're not gonna do nothing," referring to the police. "Do you have insurance?" he then asks.
Meanwhile, the robber continues to empty the shelves and makes his way to the exit.
However, things take a turn for the worst when one of the store employees decides to take matters into his own hands. He seizes the thief's arms bravely, as the store owner grabs a stick and begins beating him. "Don't do that," the man filming the incident tries to intervene. "Man, don't do that. Don't do that!" But the Sikh owner is unfazed, thrashing the robber until he collapses to the floor and begs for mercy. The incident's location has not been revealed.
