US shocker: Woman confesses to killing five-year-old daughter, Indian-origin father seeks financial assistance for funeral
PTC News Desk: A woman in New York allegedly killed her five-year-old daughter and later called the police to confess to the crime. Now, the girl’s father, who is of Indian origin, is seeking financial help to cover her funeral expenses.
On October 14, 32-year-old Francis Cabello called the emergency number 911 and reportedly told the police, “I killed my daughter.”
When police arrived at Cabello’s home in Queens, they found the girl, Fabiana, unresponsive. She was taken to a hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
Cabello was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. She has not disclosed the reason behind the alleged killing.
The exact cause of Fabiana’s death has not yet been determined. However, an autopsy found scrapes on her face and tiny spots of bleeding in her eyes, heart and lungs.
The New York Police Department said the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner would determine the cause of death.
Father seeks help through crowdfunding
Fabiana’s father, Kuldeep Singh, has started a verified GoFundMe campaign to raise money for his daughter’s funeral and cemetery expenses.
“I loved my daughter very much, and losing her feels like I lost my whole world,” Singh wrote in his appeal.
Describing the loss as devastating, Singh said he was struggling to afford the expenses needed to lay his daughter to rest. He explained that the funeral home and cemetery had asked him to pay a deposit that he could not manage on his own.
Singh works as an Uber driver using a rented car. Despite his grief, he is trying to continue working while making arrangements for his daughter’s funeral.
He has appealed to people to donate whatever they can or share the fundraiser to help him arrange a proper funeral and burial service for Fabiana.
By Wednesday, the campaign had raised $16,780 towards its target of $18,000.
