Ammy Virk, Gurnam Bhullar and Noorpreet on TikTok Ban in India

As the government of India banned 59 Chinese apps including TikTok, several TikTokers are worried. Meanwhile, the prominent personalities of the Punjabi industry have come forward and urged their fans to not be “depressed” or “stressed”.

The 5-year-old Punjabi star, Noorpreet, also requested her followers to follow her on Instagram now as TikTok has been banned by the Government of India.

Another TikToker, Varan Atwal said “bye-bye” to the musical app and requested fans to not take any stress and asked his fans to follow him on Instagram as well.

Punjabi singer Ammy Virk and Gurnam Bhullar shared a video on Instagram appealing to TikTokers to not feel stressed as TikTokers have the talent and can switch to other social media apps.

This decision of putting a ban on 59 Chinese apps comes after the recent violent face-off between India and China in Eastern Ladakh. Meanwhile, TikTok responded to the ban and said “We have been invited to meet with concerned government stakeholders for an opportunity to respond and submit clarification.”
