PTC Web Desk: Within hours of being granted interim bail by the Supreme Court, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal walked out of the Tihar Jail Friday evening. The Supreme Court granted him interim bail for 21 days in the Delhi excise policy case. He has been asked to surrender on June 2, a day after the Lok Sabha elections are over.

After walking out of the jail, Arvind Kejriwal addressed a sea of AAP supporters. He called upon the gathering to fight against "tanashahi (dictatorship)" Kejriwal said he would be visiting Hanuman Temple at The Cannaught at 11 am tomorrow. Thereafter, he would address a press conference at the party office.  He thanked one and all for praying for his release and sending their blessings to him. He also thanked the Supreme Court judges for facilitating his bail.

The Delhi CM urged the gathering "to prevent the country from tanashahi (dictatorship)". "Main taan maan dhaan se sangharsh kar  raha hun tanashahi ke khilaf.... but hum 140 crore logo ko ekathe ladna hoga (I am earnestly and steadfastly fighting against dictatorship... but all 1.4 billion people must unite to fight together," he told the gathering.  


Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann also reached the Tihar Jail to receive Kejriwal. A large number of Kejriwal's supporters also gathered outside the jail to welcome their leader.  Firecrackers were bursted to celebrate the release of their leader. Supporters also danced to the beats of dhol.

On the other hand, the Supreme Court has clearly stated that the interim bail has been granted to Arvind Kejriwal till June 1 and with a set of conditions that he is bound to adhere to during the duration of his bail. He will have to surrender on June 2.

Arvind Kejriwal also furnished bail bonds amounting to Rs 50,000, along with one surety of equivalent value, to the satisfaction of the Jail Superintendent.

As per of the restrictions, he can't visit the office of the Chief Minister and the Delhi Secretariat for the time being.
