26 killed, 16 injured in oil tanker-bus collision in Pakistan

At least 26 people were killed and 16 others were injured in an oil tanker and bus collision in Lasbela district in Pakistan on Monday evening. The accident took place in Hub tehsil of Balochistan's Lasbela district.

The bus carrying 40 people on board was travelling from Karachi to Panjgur. It collided with the oil tanker coming from the opposite direction. A huge fire broke out because of fuel in the tanker. The flames engulfed both bus and truck.

The Edhi rescue teams reached to the spot. They are trying to extract bodies trapped in the bus. According to the rescue teams, most of the people were burnt completely making it hard to identify the victims. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital. According to the media reports, five of them are in critical condition.

Lasbela Deputy Commissioner Shabir Mengal told the media that rescue teams have recovered 24 bodies from the vehicle. All of them were burnt.
