Pilot Program in Alberta: In a major development, a new pilot program in Canada has been launched at the Calgary International Airport that can bring an end to the 14-day quarantine using rapid COVID-19 testing.
How Canada Rapid COVID-19 Testing will work?
- Only Calgary International airport and Coutts land border would be part of the pilot program
- The international travellers returning to Canada will take a Rapid Covid-19 test upon landing at the Calgary International Airport.
- The travellers will self-isolate for 24-48 hours until the test results are complete.
- If the COVID-19 test returns negative, the passengers would not have to quarantine but would be asked to not visit high-risk areas.
- However, if they test positive, then they must quarantine for 14 days.
- All returning travelers, even if they tested negative, would be monitored for 7 days.
- On the 6th or 7th day, the travelers will undergo a second rapid COVID-19 test at a participating pharmacy.
