Chandigarh traffic police issues advisory ahead of Diwali season

In view of the anticipated heavy traffic movement during this festive season, citizens are requested to adopt the following measures until Diwali:

• Please try to walk to nearby markets, nearby destinations, etc. rather than using a motor vehicle.
• Please plan your day in such a manner that, whenever possible, travelling is done during non-peak hours, so that traffic presence on the roads and parking is staggered out.
• Car pooling may be considered.
• Use face mask and maintain social distancing.
• Please ensure vehicles are efficiently parked in the designated parking lots not consuming more space than necessary.
• People are advised not to park their vehicles in ‘No Parking’ Zones/Roads; otherwise, such vehicles shall be towed away/clamped.
• People are advised not to park/ply their vehicles on cycle track/pedestrian pathways.

• Please remain patient in case of congestion and do not honk unnecessarily.General public is advised to use parking spaces of following govt. schools for parking of their vehicles till Diwali after closing of the schools/colleges:-
