CM assured early resolution to the problems of unaided colleges

A delegation of Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Unaided Colleges under the leadership of Chairman JAC Sh. Ashwani Sekheri today met Chief Minister of Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh at CM’s Residence, Chandigarh. Karan Avtar Singh, IAS, Chief Secretary, Punjab; Tejveer Singh, IAS, Principal Secretary to CM were also present on the occasion.

Dr. Anshu Kataria, Spokesman, JAC said that CM gave a big sigh of relief to the Colleges after giving a patience hearing to the problems being faced by the Unaided Colleges due to delay in release of Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) funds. Captain immediately ordered the officials to release around 400 Crore to the Unaided Colleges.

Giving another big relief to the Colleges, Captain also assured JAC that colleges would get fees for the duration for which the student has studied in the particular course for a particular time period even if he/she has dropped his studies in between due to any reason.

Captain further assured the Colleges that Unaided Colleges would be reimbursed the Scholarship at the fee structure fixed by the Govt for Unaided Colleges while in the past in some of the Courses like ITI, B.Ed etc they were being reimbursed the fee structure fixed for the Govt Colleges.

Nirmal Singh, ETT Federation; Mr. Shimanshu Gupta, ITI Association; S. Sukhmander Singh Chatha, Punjab Unaided Degree Colleges Association(PUDCA); Sh. Vipin Sharma, Confederation of Unaided Colleges Association; Sh. Jagjit Singh, President, B.Ed Federation; Mr. Charanjit Walia, President, Nursing Colleges Association etc were also present in this meeting.
