Vistara addresses actor Aditi Rao Hydari's criticism of Mumbai airport experience

PTC News Desk: Aditi Rao Hydari, renowned Bollywood actor, recently took to Instagram to voice her frustrations about her experience at Mumbai airport. Sharing her ordeal with her followers, she described a situation where upon landing in the early hours of the morning, there was an absence of necessary infrastructure such as a ladder or airbridge, leaving her stranded on the tarmac. Hydari characterised the scene as an "airport circus," expressing her discontent with the situation.

In her Instagram stories, accompanied by a snapshot from her flight window depicting the airport, Hydari emphasised the inconvenience she faced. Her post quickly gained traction, drawing attention to the challenges passengers encounter during air travel.

Responding to the criticism, Vistara issued a statement clarifying the circumstances surrounding the delay. According to the airline, the deboarding process of Vistara flight UK 876 from Hyderabad to Mumbai experienced a delay of 12 minutes due to difficulties aligning the step ladder with the aircraft. They assured that corrective measures were promptly implemented after notifying the relevant authorities and expressed regret for any inconvenience caused to passengers.

Aditi Rao Hydari, known for her roles in acclaimed films such as "Ajeeb Daastan," "Delhi 6," and "Bajirao Mastani," among others, is currently gearing up for her upcoming project, a period drama titled 'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar,' directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The series, which also features Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Sharmin Segal, is scheduled for release on May 1.

This incident brings to mind similar experiences shared by other celebrities. In January, actor Radhika Apte recounted her own airport nightmare, where she and fellow passengers were confined inside the aerobridge following a flight delay. Though Apte did not disclose specific details regarding the location or airline, she highlighted the ordeal through social media.

Additionally, television actor Surbhi Chandna, recognized for her role in "Naagin 5," accused Vistara of "mental harassment" earlier this year. Chandna alleged mishandling of her priority luggage and misconduct by ground staff at Mumbai airport, adding to the growing discourse surrounding airline passenger experiences.

As incidents like these continue to surface, they underscore the importance of addressing and improving airport operations and customer service standards to ensure a seamless travel experience for all passengers.
