PTC News Desk: A middle-aged couple and their 24-year-old son were discovered dead inside their home in Delhi’s Maidangarhi, while the couple’s younger son remains untraceable.
The incident came to light after neighbours noticed a foul smell and alerted the police. Upon entering the house, officers found Prem Singh, aged around 45–50, and his 24-year-old son Hrithik lying in pools of blood on the ground floor. On the first floor, the body of Rajni, aged about 40–45, was found with her mouth gagged.
Their younger son, Siddharth, aged around 22–23, was missing. Locals informed police that Siddharth had been under psychiatric treatment for over a decade, with recent care at the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences (IHBAS). Medical records and medicines recovered from the house confirmed his treatment for aggressive tendencies and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Police suspect Siddharth attacked his family with knives and also used bricks and stones.
Investigations further revealed that Siddharth had reportedly confessed to someone about killing his family and declared he would not return to the house. The village pradhan, Mohammed Shakeel Ahmed Khan, added that Prem Singh was an alcoholic and family quarrels were frequent.
The house has since been sealed, the bodies sent for post-mortem, and forensic teams are gathering fingerprints and other evidence. Police have launched a search for Siddharth.
