Diwali celebrations underway in Ayodhya, 2 lakh 'diyas' to light up banks of Saryu river

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday reached Ayodhya along with Governor Ram Naik and kstarted the grand Diwali celebrations, which has started to get magnificent as earthen lamps are lit at the bank of Saryu River.

The grand “Deepotsav” is the iconic town’s biggest Diwali celebration ever, set to light up the entire town in the evening. Along with Adityanath, his entire cabinet is expected to be present for the historic celebrations.

He spoke about the significance Ayodhya, which is believed to be the birthplace of Lord Ram. He also promised to work towards the development of Ayodhya and make it a significant part of UP tourism.

He said, "Ayodhya maanavta ki dharti hai, maanavta ka path duniya ko Ayodhya ne padhya hai Ram rajya ke maadhyam se (Ayodhya is the land of humanity, It is through Ram Rajya that humanity's lessons have been imparted to the world by Ayodhya)."
