Lok Sabha Polls 2024: PM Modi has total assets worth Rs 3 crore; owns no car, house and land | Check Details

Lok Sabha Polls 2024: After praying at the Kaal Bhairav temple and Dashashwamedh Ghat in Varanasi on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi his nomination papers from the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh. 

Seeking a third consecutive term from the constituency and hoping to win with a record margin, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that he has assets totalling more than Rs 3 crore but no land, houses, or car. 


The majority of PM Modi's claimed assets in the affidavit, totalling Rs 3.02 crore, is a fixed deposit with the State Bank of India, valued at Rs 2.86 crore. 

He has Rs 52,920 in cash on hand and Rs 80,304 in two bank accounts, one each in Gandhinagar and Varanasi.

Modi’s investments include Rs 2.67 lakh for four gold rings, Rs 9.12 lakh for National Savings Certificates, and Rs 2.85 lakh for Fixed Deposits.

According to the income tax return, the PM's total income increased from Rs 11.1 lakh in FY19 to Rs 23.5 lakh in FY23.

The Prime Minister's election affidavit does not include any declaration of immovable assets, nor does it list any investments in stocks or mutual funds.

Focusing on the education segment, the Prime Minister has stated that he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from Delhi University in 1978 and his Master of Arts degree from Gujarat University in 1983. Additionally, he has affirmed that there are no pending criminal cases against him.

Filing nomination papers as a candidate for the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat, PM Modi wrote on X handle, “It is an honour to serve the people of this historic seat. With the blessings of the people, there have been remarkable achievements over the last decade. This pace of work will get even faster in the times to come.”

A total of 25 NDA leaders attended the nomination of the Prime Minister including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President JP Nadda, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Chief Minister of Meghalaya Conrad Sangma were also present.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, PM Modi won the seat with over 6,74,664 votes and commanded a vote share of 63.6 per cent

Varanasi will vote in the seventh phase of the Lok Sabha election on June 1.
