At a recent event held at the BMC headquarters in Mumbai for the launch of the Mumbai Clean League, Akshay was asked about the LPG shortage. His response? 

The actor shared that his wife, Twinkle Khanna, has already taken action. Anticipating possible trouble, she ordered not one but two induction stoves as a backup plan. Smart move!

Akshay casually explained that while there hasn’t been a major issue at his home yet, it’s better to be prepared. In his trademark candid style, he even suggested others consider doing the same - basically saying, “Why wait for a crisis when you can just plug in and cook?”

Interestingly, he admitted he wasn’t even sure if the stoves had been delivered yet - just that his wife had ordered them. Sounds like a very real household moment!

What’s Causing the LPG Crunch?

The shortage is linked to global tensions involving Iran, the US, and Israel. Due to restrictions around the Strait of Hormuz - a key shipping route - India’s LPG supply faced disruptions. Although some shipments have now resumed, the situation has led to rising prices and stricter rules, like increasing the gap between cylinder bookings to 25 days.

What’s Next for Akshay?

While dealing with kitchen backups at home, Akshay is also busy gearing up for his next big release, Bhooth Bangla. The romantic horror-comedy is set to hit theatres on April 10, 2026.

The film marks his reunion with filmmaker Priyadarshan after 16 years - the duo last worked together on Khatta Meetha. With a star-studded cast including Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Rajpal Yadav, expectations are already high.
