Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ sets record with massive Rs 52 cr paid premiere collection in India
Industry insiders suggest that Dhurandhar: The Revenge is poised for a record-breaking theatrical run and could surpass the lifetime performance of the first installment
PTC Web Desk: The much-awaited sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh, has opened to a phenomenal response at the box office, setting new benchmarks even before its official release. The film’s paid preview shows alone have generated an impressive Rs 52 crore gross across India, marking one of the biggest premiere openings for an Indian film.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the Hindi-language action drama recorded a net collection of approximately Rs 44 crore, as per early estimates from trade tracker Sacnilk. The film was screened in over 12,000 shows nationwide, reflecting massive audience anticipation.
With these figures, the sequel has already outperformed the opening day earnings of its predecessor, which had collected Rs 33 crore on its first day. Despite premium ticket pricing for the paid previews, theatres witnessed strong footfall, indicating high audience excitement.
However, the film’s premiere wasn’t without hiccups. Several shows scheduled on March 18 faced cancellations due to delays in content delivery, prompting cinema chains to issue refunds. Even so, the disruptions did little to dampen the enthusiasm, as fans turned up in large numbers once screenings resumed.
Industry insiders suggest that Dhurandhar: The Revenge is poised for a record-breaking theatrical run and could surpass the lifetime performance of the first installment, which had earned around Rs 1,300 crore globally after its release in December 2025.
Alongside Ranveer Singh, the film features a strong ensemble cast, including R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi.
The film has now officially released in theatres worldwide and is expected to continue its strong momentum over the opening weekend.
