Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda Udaipur wedding: A royal celebration is underway in the lake city of Udaipur as actors Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna begin the festivities leading up to their wedding. The couple’s haldi ceremony was held on Wednesday amid a vibrant setting of marigolds and golden lights at the luxury property Raffles Udaipur, where close friends and family gathered for the intimate affair.

The celebrations continue today with a mehndi ceremony, while the wedding vows are set to be exchanged on Thursday in the presence of nearly 200 handpicked guests. The guest list includes family members, close friends and select personalities from the South Indian film industry.

Adding cinematic sparkle to the occasion, filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga arrived to bless the couple. Vanga shares a professional history with both stars; he directed Vijay in the Telugu cult hit Arjun Reddy, later remade in Hindi as Kabir Singh, and worked with Rashmika in the blockbuster Animal.

South Indian priests have been specially flown in to conduct the traditional wedding rituals, ensuring the ceremonies stay rooted in custom. Earlier in the week, actors Eesha Rebba and Ashika Ranganath, filmmaker Tharun Bhascker and stylist Shravya Varma were spotted arriving in Udaipur to join the celebrations.

The wedding décor blends elegance with understated luxury: pastel green drapes, fresh floral installations, fruit-adorned centerpieces and pearl-finish table settings create a refined aesthetic. Guests are being treated to a thoughtfully curated menu featuring South Indian and Punjabi delicacies alongside select Japanese dishes.

On Tuesday night, the couple hosted a lively music soirée. Walking hand in hand, Vijay and Rashmika made a graceful entry through a gallery showcasing cherished photographs from their journey together. Family and friends danced to popular South Indian and Bollywood tracks, while the bride and groom delivered a special performance that drew applause.

The pre-wedding festivities began on February 23, when the families checked into the hotel. A playful cricket match between the bride and groom’s teams, dubbed the “VIROSH Premier League”, added a spirited touch to the celebrations, with glimpses shared on social media showing moments from a poolside gathering and private dinner.

In a special gesture, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent a congratulatory message to the couple. Quoting the Sanskrit phrase “Sakha Saptapadi Bhava,” he reflected on the idea that seven steps taken together transform two individuals into lifelong companions and true friends. The Prime Minister also praised their cinematic journeys, noting that while both stars are known for creating magic on screen, their new chapter in real life promises to shine even brighter.

Vijay Deverakonda hails from a film-oriented family; his father, Govardhan Deverakonda, is associated with Telugu cinema as a director-producer. His younger brother, Anand Deverakonda, is also carving a space for himself in the industry. Rashmika, on the other hand, comes from a non-film background. She made her Bollywood debut with Goodbye and went on to feature in major releases, including Pushpa: The Rise.

The couple will host a grand reception in Hyderabad on March 3 and 4, where leading names from both the South Indian and Hindi film industries are expected to attend.

For now, against the shimmering lakes and regal backdrops of Udaipur, the celebrations remain intimate, elegant and filled with quiet joy, a fitting beginning for two of Indian cinema’s most celebrated stars.
