According to ongoing industry buzz, the OTT premiere of Dhurandhar: The Revenge has now been pushed to the first week of June. The primary factor behind this delay is the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). As the tournament approaches its most crucial and high-viewership phase in mid-May, the makers are reportedly avoiding a clash that could divide audience attention.
The strategy appears to be a calculated one. By waiting until the IPL concludes, the team aims to ensure that the film receives maximum digital traction and reaches a wider audience without competition from cricket’s peak season. While an official announcement is still awaited, trade insiders indicate that the film could arrive on streaming either in the last week of May or in early June 2026.
Another notable aspect of this release is the platform shift. While the first installment of the franchise premiered on Netflix, the sequel will stream on JioHotstar after completing its theatrical run.
On the box office front, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has delivered exceptional numbers. Released during the festive occasions of Ugadi and Gudi Padwa, the film benefited from strong initial momentum, further boosted by paid previews held a day before its global release. Within just 21 days, it surpassed Rs 1,041 crore at the Indian box office and reached Rs 1,653.67 crore worldwide, firmly establishing itself as a blockbuster.
