Salman Khan steps forward with Being Human, sends five boats for Punjab flood rescue operation
His charitable organisation, the Being Human Foundation, has sent five boats to assist in ongoing rescue efforts across the state.
PTC News Desk: As Punjab is reeling under one of its worst floods in decades, several celebrities across Punjabi industry have stepped forward and extended required assistance for flood affected victims. Meanwhile, various bollywood actors have also made significant contributions and one such amongst them is of Salman Khan.
His charitable organisation, the Being Human Foundation, has sent five boats to assist in ongoing rescue efforts across the state.
Salman Khan expressed his concerns over the flood situation in Punjab during reality show Big Boss' special Saturday episode. He said, "Floods have ravaged the Punjab and inflicted heavy damages with houses washed away nd crops destroyed, leaving people helpless. The same farmers who feeds the entire nations, today has been left with no food."
While applauding the Punjab community's social service, he said that now it's our turn to stand with the people who have always stood with this nation at forefront.
"This community is known for social service and langar. For hundreds of years, this community has distributed food to people, never let anyone down and never sent them back hungry. Now its our turn to do our bit and contribute to help the flood-affected victims.
Besides Salman Khan, several other celebrities and singers have stepped in to extend assistance. Gippy Grewal, Sonu Sood, and Diljit Dosanjh are among the Punjabi celebrities who have started delivering aid and relief supplies to the impacted areas. Fans have praised their efforts, seeing the film industry support the state in its most difficult times.
