Sidhu Moosewala's death anniversary: A year has passed since Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala was murdered in broad daylight. The legend left the world, but his music did not.

Sidhu Moosewala's family and team have worked hard to ensure that the late singer's unheard songs continue to reach fans even after his death.

Since his death, Sidhu Moosewala's three songs have been released and all have amassed astounding views within hours of release.

Here's the list of songs released after Sidhu Moosewala's death

  • SYL

SYL was the first song which was released after Sidhu Moosewala's brutal killing. The controversial song was released on his YouTube channel weeks after his death, by his team. It amassed over one million views within an hour of its release.

SYL, written and sung by Moose Wala, highlights the Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal issue, Punjab's right over river waters and Sikh prisoners languishing in jails.

The song was however removed from YouTube over its "controversial" lyrics. 'SYL' anyway crossed 3 crore views, despite the ban. The Punjab Assembly announced a resolution condemning this ban on SYL.

  • Vaar

'Vaar' was released four months after the murder of Sidhu Moosewala. The second song that was released following the singer's death had over 4 million views.

'Vaar' lauds the bravery of great Sikh warrior Hari Singh Nalwa, who served as Khalsa Fauz commander in chief under Maharaja Ranjit Singh.

The song 'Vaar' was released on the singer's YouTube channel to commemorate the 553rd birth anniversary of the first Sikh master Guru Nanak Dev Ji. It garnered one million views within 20 minutes of its release.

Balkaur Singh, Moose Wala's father, stated, "He (Moosewala) wanted to shoot the video in the place where Nalwa won the wars, but the dream could not be fulfilled."

  • Mera Na

'Mera Na' was released over 10 months after Sidhu Moosewala's brutal killing. It is the Punjabi singer's third song released after his death.

Burna Boy, a Nigerian singer who met Moosewala's parents in the UK last year, rapped for the song. Steel Banglez composed the music.

The song's lyrics, "Mera Na," 'Mera Naa har paase har thaan (my name everywhere, every place),' as well as the video, show how much the singer from Punjab's Mansa is missed around the world.

The video features Moose Wala's words, footage of his concerts and events, and Canadian rap star Drake wearing a sweatshirt in his memory.

The song garnered over a million views within 20 minutes of its release and the number rose to 4.9 million views within four hours of its release.
